CBD is short for Cannabidiol and it is one of at least 113 chemical compounds referred to as cannabinoids that are found in the cannabis plant or marijuana plant. CBD is non-psychoactive meaning that it won't get you high like THC does. Most importantly though are the enormous benefits observed in taking CBD, such as a reduction in anxiety and pain, just to name a few.
Yes, but less than 0.3% THC. We only sell full-spectrum CBD (i.e. whole plant CBD). What this means is that the CBD contains within it the whole range of cannabinoids needed to ensure that the CBD is effective, including trace amounts of THC. Since our CBD contains less than 0.3% THC you will not get high from our oils, gummies and creams. If you get drug tested periodically there is a chance that you may fail the test after using Willow for an extended period of time.
CBD was taken off of the list of controlled substances in 2018 when the Farm Bill was passed. What that means is that CBD is regulated via the FDA (Food & Drug Administration) instead of the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency). Per the new guideline as long as the CBD is sourced from industrial hemp and contains less than 0.3% THC it is legal.
We use a subzero organic extraction method. We freeze both the ethanol and hemp to -40 degrees and do a quick soak so we create a higher quality full spectrum extract. When we freeze the alcohol and the hemp material, the alcohol just extracts the parts of the plant that we want, such as terpenes, flavonoids, and major and minor cannabinoids. The things we don't want like chlorophyll, plant fats, lipids, and particulates stay frozen in the hemp plant and don't get pulled out with the compounds we do want-creating a cleaner, higher quality full spectrum extract. .
